The 178,000 pesos
What is so inspiring about 178,000 pesos?
Well, it is an exact amount of tithe fund Arnold Vargas has decided to return to God.
Its quite a big amount of money for you not to be tempted, right? But not with Arnold.
But who is he?
Let me give you a brief background about him. He’s a stock market investor, young entrepreneur, and personal finance advocate.
He is currently a CEO of Pisara Publishing Company that distributes textbook materials to schools and has branches nationwide. I must say he made millions of money by selling textbooks.
A humble beginning
Interestingly, Arnold has a humble beginning. When he was a kid, he was a typical bus vendor selling mani, balot, and ice buko. He was also a janitor and college dropout and was also known as Bulakbol Millionaire.
Last week, I had a privileged to interview him so I can feature him at Richly Blessed Today. RBT Community is a blog section where I interviewed people about how God richly blessed people both spiritually and financially.
By the way, Arnold is also a member of Truly Rich Club.
In addition, he is a philanthropist. For instance, he donated clothes yearly to children in Payatas (a slum area in Quezon City) since 2012 to give back something to the community.
So, going back to 178,000 pesos.
There was a point in time where his tithes has reached to 178,000 pesos. The year was late 2013. At that time, he has a lot of financial obligations to settle with his suppliers. In addition, the tithe is already a big amount of money for a young entrepreneur like him who had recently established the business.
Then I asked him, “Were you not tempted to keep the money?”
“Slightly.” He confessed with a smile.
However, he told me about the Abundance Formula or the 100-10-20-70 principles by Bo Sanchez and reminded himself to be a faithful steward of God’s material blessings.
So he decided to withdraw the money in the bank.
When you trusted Him
Then Saturday came. He took a bath early in the morning to go to church. The tithe fund was ready and sealed in an envelope. He was determined to give back his tithe to God.
While taking a bath, he remembered a certain company who gave him an unexpected bonus wherein he also served as a business consultant. Aside from this, a Meralco company has sent him a notice of dividend with number of shares he has invested in the stock market.
When he computed the bonus from a company and the stocks from Meralco, the combined exact amount was 180,000 pesos!
I was completely amazed and speechless when I heard his story.
This is what he said: “Kuya Jun, hindi ka talaga matatalo kay Lord when it comes to giving. This is a law of increasing return God made himself.”
What a powerful reminder!
If you are an OFW, or wherever parts of the world you are, remember that God will supply all your needs.
Do not be discouraged when you are facing financial problems. Today is your opportunity to exercise faith and recognize God’s ownership. When you seek God first, He will bless you even more.
This is a powerful lesson about 178,000 pesos.
So, keep trusting Him!
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. —Malachi 3:10 NIV
